Essentials SPS is ready to use and does not necessarily need to be diluted (undiluted). Dilute Essentials SPS to a total volume of 5 or 10 liters if the dosage is too small for use with an automatic dosing pump.
Dilution of Essentials SPS
To calculate the correct dosage, we need the net volume of your aquarium in liters (amount of water in the entire aquarium system).
Net volume in liters
The Essentials SPS products are generally consumed at the same rate. In this case, the dosage of Essentials SPS #1 and #2 can be adjusted based on the carbonate hardness (KH) value. Please only enter the total daily dosage of Essentials Mixed #1 here!
Dosing volume Essentials SPS #1 in ml:
If the calcium level changes over time, the dosage of Essentials SPS #2 should be adjusted based on calcium consumption. Only in this case should an entry be made here.
Dosing volume Essentials SPS #2 in ml:
The Essentials SPS products are generally consumed at the same rate. In this case, the dosage of Essentials SPS #1 and #2 can be adjusted based on the KH value. If the calcium level changes over time, the dosage of Essentials SPS #2 should be adjusted based on calcium consumption. Use periods instead of commas when entering values!
Measure the KH level daily during the initial phase to determine your aquarium's Essentials SPS consumption. Ideally, measure at the same time each day and at the same intervals between doses!

Measure your calcium level once a week, always at 7-day intervals. Note the measurement results and enter them in the fields below as needed (calcium levels change).

The Essentials products combine to create a seawater-like liquid that safely replenishes the substances consumed by your animals. However, their use typically leads to a gradual increase in the salinity of your aquarium water. This allows for a mini water change, which simultaneously corrects the salinity of your aquarium water. Simply replace the aquarium water with the same amount of reverse osmosis water. The salinity correction is best performed manually.“
If you can only determine the density of your aquarium water (using a hydrometer or hydrometer), use one of the tables provided on the internet for conversion (search for density to salinity).

This is the nutrition of the corals, sponges, and microorganisms in your reef aquarium. This is especially important when nutrient levels (NO3 and PO4) in the aquarium are low and plankton/food is lacking.
These supplements are used to specifically increase nutrient levels (NO3 and PO4). An increase in nutrient levels can only occur if the supplements are overdosed. This also increases the risk of algae growth.
The dosage of Essential Nitro & Phospho will significantly improve the situation and noticeably stabilize the reef aquarium.
As the diversity of organisms increases, so does the nutrient demand of the reef aquarium, which in turn allows for a reduction in nutrient levels. Dosing nitro and phosphorus prevents nutrient limitations.
Therefore, adjust the dosage of Nitro & Phospho regularly using this calculator.
The nutrient levels in your reef aquarium will rise. This is not the goal of the dosage!
Essential Nitro & Phospho should only be dosed if measures are being taken against algae at the same time and there are corals in the aquarium.
Net volume in liters
Their reef aquarium is:
Your reef aquarium contains:
NO3 is at:
PO4 is located at:
Desired dilution
Caution: The water used for dilution must be extremely clean and free of nutrients. Otherwise, the nitro and phosphorus can become contaminated, and fungi or bacteria can grow in the solution. Ideally, only small portions of the dilution should be prepared at a time.
Essential Nitro
Dose Nitro only once a day. Either in the morning or in the evening.
Phosphorus limitation leads to the loss of corals and beneficial bacteria. As a consequence, cyanobacteria can proliferate. Phospho counteracts phosphorus limitation quickly and effectively.
