The ATI® Essentials product family is a comprehensive supply system that you can tailor to your tank (Mixed Reef or SPS-dominated) and your experience level (Beginner or Pro).
Basic care for beginners is provided by Essentials Mixed Reef and Essentials SPS. Both are highly concentrated liquid nutrient systems for perfect growth, optimal metabolism, and vibrant coloration of corals in saltwater aquariums.
At the Pro level, fine-tuning of the basic supply is possible using Essential Daily Traces A & B, Essential Nitro and Essential Phospho.
Through our experience with tens of thousands of ICP laboratory analyses, the formulations have been continuously optimized and further developed over the years, so that you receive the latest generation of medical supplies.
Essentials SPS and Mixed Reef supply the aquarium with calcium, carbonate hardness and magnesium, as well as all other relevant macro-elements such as boron and bromine, chloride, fluorine, potassium, sodium, sulfur and strontium
In addition, Essentials contain a basic supply of the essential trace elements chromium, cobalt, iron, fluorine, iodine, copper, lithium, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, rubidium, selenium, vanadium and zinc.
Essentials SPS and Mixed Reef are ready to use immediately. No tedious preparation is required. Furthermore, they are highly concentrated: Essentials SPS is approximately 3.6 times more concentrated than classic Balling solutions, and Essentials Mixed Reef is even 5 times more concentrated.
The concentrations are precisely calibrated so that equal amounts of both solutions are used. The Essentials can be individually adjusted to the needs of your aquarium. This ensures a natural water composition and prevents ion imbalances.

If you are using Essentials SPS, start with 5-10 ml per 100 liters per day. For Essentials Mixed-Reef, use 3-7 ml as a guideline.
Each reef aquarium has a different consumption rate. Measure the alkalinity after one week and increase or decrease the dosage of both solutions accordingly.
By dosing the Essentials, you keep all relevant water parameters constant and perfectly balance the daily consumption of your corals.
The Essentials system consists of only two bottles for basic use, while other systems typically require 3-5 bottles. This reduces complexity and saves valuable space in the cupboard.
Other supply systems dispense different quantities of each component, which is prone to errors. If one component runs out, the other may not yet be depleted.
While other systems often only balance calcium and KH, Essentials SPS and Mixed Reef each contain 25 essential elements.
The Essentials solutions are highly concentrated and contain up to 5 times more KH per liter than classic Balling solutions.
Based on tens of thousands of ICP laboratory analyses, the recipe has been optimized over the years. Continuous quality control is carried out via our ICP laboratory.

ATI® Essentials SPS and Essentials Mixed Reef provide a basic supply of trace elements. The concentrations are chosen to prevent toxic trace element accumulation, even in less densely populated aquariums. For aquariums with trace element requirements exceeding this basic supply, we have developed our two combination products, ATI® Essential Daily Traces #A and #B. These products incorporate the latest findings on trace elements in the microgram and nanogram range, obtained through state-of-the-art ICP measurements (ICP Ultimate MS). Additional trace element requirements can arise, for example, from a very high coral population, an algae refugium, or the use of phosphate adsorbers, zeolite, or activated carbon. Essential Daily Traces #A and #B can be individually adjusted to meet the specific needs of your aquarium.
ATI® Essential Nitro is part of the ATI® Essentials System and ensures a sufficient nitrogen supply for corals in marine aquariums. Essential Nitro contains a balanced blend of inorganic and organic nitrogen sources. It contains little pure nitrate, but instead provides other, more readily metabolized nitrogen sources such as urea and ammonium, as well as valuable vitamins and amino acids. Essential Nitro acts as a fuel for corals and is essential for growth, polyp extension, color development, and overall vitality.
ATI® Essential Phospho is part of the ATI® Essentials System and prevents phosphate and phosphorus deficiencies in marine aquariums. Phosphorus sources are essential for coral biomass growth. A phosphorus deficiency manifests as rapid tissue loss in stony corals. In aquariums with excessively low phosphate levels, Essential Phospho helps maintain the phosphate level within the target range of 0.03–0.1 mg/l.
